We are excited to share with you the new Belo Corp. weather forecast experience, WeatherCaster for iPad!
Belo came to Smashing Ideas with the desire to create a weather app to reflect their top-notch meteorologists and satisfy their audiences’ needs and expectations for a better weather forecast.
We worked closely with the Belo team to build an experience that takes weather forecasts to the next level and next screen to not only satisfy the needs of Belo’s local audience, but a national one.
We built a robust product that takes advantage of Belo’s trusted on-air meteorologists, provides in-depth weather forecasts, severe weather alerts, animated radar and interactive maps – all in retina-enhanced high definition. We learned Belo’s most active weather aficionados wanted to participate in the forecast, so we built social components into their app and gave users the ability to collect, post and share their favorite weather photos and videos in a social community setting.
