October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease.
In honor of this, we challenged our employees to wear pink today (which wasn’t hard to do). Smashing Ideas is donating $5 per person to our local Puget Sound Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure for every person who donned pink.

Our Smashing Associate Technical Director, Richard Puckett, whipped up a big screen display in our lobby that curates tweets containing the breast cancer hashtag, #breastcancer. If you’ve used this hashtag your tweet received a spot on our screen.
Smashing CEO, Steve Jackson, also provided pink champagne and candy to add more pink to our day and remind everyone that while most people are aware of breast cancer and a lot of progress has been made, there’s still a long way to go and groups like Susan G. Komen for the Cure need your help!
Also, be sure to check out the Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s 31 Days of Impact site where they share incredible stories from breast cancer survivors.
