Just a few short days after launch, “pat the bunny”® is now showcased as “New & Noteworthy” in the iTunes store, and has already hit the #1 paid app in the iPad Book category. It’s a delight to see the interactive version of this classic find so many new fans!
This is the 2nd iOS book Smashing Ideas has produced for Random House Digital that has appeared as the #1 paid app, with “Wild About Books” having also had the honor.
A huge congratulations to everyone at Mattel and the Monster High team at Smashing Ideas for being honored with “Outstanding Website” in the 2011 Internet Advertising Competition. Produced by The Web Marketing Association, this annual award competition is designed to judge Web sites against an Internet standard and against peer sites within their industry. It’s an honor being recognized by the judges at IAC.
Monsterhigh.com is a fangtastic destination site for girls that was designed and developed to support the launch of the of the Monster High doll and toy line. Since it’s launch fans keep coming back for more ghoulish games, webisodes and online activities.
Our Portland office has recently received kudos for some of its top projects. The Portland team received a runner-up mention in the American Marketing Association Oregon Chapter’s MAX (Marketing Award of Excellence) awards for its “Be An ENERGY STAR” campaign. And the Association of Energy Services Professionals awarded the team an Energy Award/Honorable Mention in the Marketing Communications Category for its NW ENERGY STAR Homes Program, on behalf of client Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA).
This comes on the heels of the Portland office’s 2009 victory (in partnership with Fluid Market Strategies), helping the NEEA win a 2009 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Awards for Program Delivery are given to a variety of organizations to recognize their efforts to improve energy efficiency and reduce pollution. Award winners are selected from more than 12,000 organizations that participate in the ENERGY STAR program.
Way to go, Portland!
The Parents’ Choice Awards program honors the best material for children: books, toys, music and storytelling, magazines, software, videogames, television and websites. Parents’ Choice Foundation’s panels of educators, scientists, performing artists, librarians, parents and, yes, kids themselves, identify the very best products for children of different ages and backgrounds, and of varied skill and interest levels.
KaritoKids.com received a commendation from the panel in September, 2008 as a recommended website.
Karito Kids are dolls and books built on the philosophy that children around the world, given the chance, will want to help each other. Smashing Ideas built the website and seven games that let kids play to earn World Change and then donate it to help real kids throughout the world.
In August 2008, the website was awarded the Adobe Site of the Day, and in November 2008 it received GOLD award from the International Davey Awards.
