Make Things That Matter: A Fresh Look for Cancer Lifeline
We are proud to announce the launch of Cancer Lifeline’s revamped website! Cancer Lifeline is a Seattle-based nonprofit that is dedicated to optimizing the quality of life for people living with cancer. They offer a wide variety of classes, presentations, emotional support groups, and financial aid for cancer patients and their loved ones…all free of charge.
Smashing’s Lisa Dawson – Executive Director, Program Management – is a long-standing board member of Cancer Lifeline, and she spearheaded the agency’s effort to bring this important organization’s website into better alignment with its mission to help those in need manage their journey.
The outdated website was cumbersome to use and maintain, and did not best represent the positive efforts the organization was making, nor did it make the proper impression on potential donors. Cancer Lifeline needed a new site that would convey the quality of their programs and services, while requiring minimal technical skills for their staff to manage and maintain. A WordPress site hosted at WPEngine was an attractive solution, but they needed help in making it their own.
Enter Smashing’s team of designers and developers that created a site that reflects Cancer Lifeline’s mission and values, and better serves the needs of Cancer Lifeline’s clients. By keeping customizations and plugins to a minimum, the new site is straightforward to update without increasing the financial burden on the organization.
“Beyond the amazing aesthetic improvements (and those are significant!); the new site is so much easier for patients, caregivers, and providers to navigate. The new website also embraces and exemplifies the warmth and supportive feeling of Cancer Lifeline’s services, staff, and volunteers. It’s fantastic!”
